    1. Dont over bake them. Even if they look soft, the sugar in the cookie keeps baking after you take them out.
So take them out after the correct time and cool them on a wire rack. Store them in a tupperware container (or any plastic container with a good tight lid) with a slice of regular bread. Swear to god it works! My grandma taught me this!

you have to shorten the baking time by a min or so. that will keep them soft. ; )

undercook…. if it says cook ten minutes, then cook for 7.. take out and let cool.. store in an airtight contaainer..

Melissa C is right. If you overbake them they go crunchy, some ovens are hotter than others so if says bake for 15 mins at 180 C (sorry im an aussie), then maybe you need to bake a few degrees less. And keep in airtight container.

    Happy eating!

As the first person said, don’t bake as long and put a piece of bread in the container afterwards. It really makes a difference.

use shortening instead of butter or margerine, it helps

Seriously, the bread thing works. I also learned this from my Grandmother. Something about the moisture in the slice of bread will actually soften your cookies, just make sure its in a container with a lid, or even a large zip lock bag might work.

    Good luck!

    grab a container,
stick the cookies in it, place a few slices of bread on top,
let it sit for a day, your cookies will be super soft again !

Cook them a minute to two minutes less whenever you take cookies out of the oven they still have a tendency to cook still.
I learned that from working with food so your best bet would be to not cook them all the way.
and that should keep them soft or moist.
