ants in freezer?
★3 days ago I found a pile of dead ants in my freezer, I was in shock, it looks like they are coming through the little crack between the plastic white part of the inside of the freezer and outside frame. (hope that makes sense) I cleand the freezer and put some bug spary behind and under the freezer but they keep coming in. My fridge is not even 2 years old, it’s the one with double doors, water and ice maker, I found no ants in the fridge part, nothing is splilled inside no sweets except one box of ice cream (no leaks there) everything else is tightly packed meat and vegetables. Has anyone had this happen to them , what should I do? Oh, I live in California if it’s of any relevance. Thank you all.

well you should take all your food out of your freezer and then clean it with bleach and water make sure that you put some water in the bleach so it won’t be so strong. and then let it dry then put your food back in. and then see if the ants are gone . then you can e-mail me and tell me what was the reaction?

You might try getting some weather stripping from Lowes or Home Depot and covering the crack you noticed. Or, try putting a bead of Latex caulk on the crack and filling it in. If you go with the caulk, squeeze a bead on the crack, wet your finger and gently dab the caulk to push it into the crack and completely fill it.

I swear ants can smell food from miles away. Make sure you spray ant spray around the baseboard of your floors near your freezer. Sometimes it is hard to tell how they are coming into the house. They may come back in a month or two. Just be vigilant about spraying when you spot them.

We had those real small ants in a bag of KFC and year ago. The temperature was around zero here in the Midwest. That is like your freezer, I don’t understand how they stayed alive in the bag. I was a take out and we drove a hundred miles before we decided to eat. The car was kept outside in the cold. Your freezer is sealed good, there should be no way they can get inside.

I used to have a small spider living quite happily in the refrigerator once, it didn’t create a web, I suppose, it thought there wasn’t much point. I was always careful to look out for it, but it eventually went, hopefully, I didn’t kill it without noticing.
